Leeds United are reportedly among the clamour of clubs wanting to sign Nottingham Forest forward Brennan Johnson.
Johnson has been instrumental in the Reds’ rise up the Championship table under Steve Cooper and scored for the second game in the succession in Tuesday’s 3-0 win over Barnsley.
Brentford have wanted the Welshman for some time now, while Newcastle United have also been linked.
Leeds are also said to be showing an interest in the player, who is rated at around £20million.
According to The Athletic, the Elland Road club have compiled a dossier on Johnson, with a source claiming Leeds have “known everything down to his inside leg measurement” for some time.
But the report adds that Leeds have not yet made a concrete offer for Johnson and that Brentford are the only side to have done so.
Following the win over Barnsley, Cooper said he was confident that Johnson would still be at the club beyond the end of the transfer window, which slams shut at 11pm on Monday, January 31.
