Leeds United boss Jesse Marsch reveals his wish from FA Cup fifth round draw

Leeds United head coach Jesse Marsch has claimed "it would be great" if the Whites were to get a home draw in the fifth round of the FA Cup.

Leeds have progressed beyond the fourth round of the competition for the first time in seven years after beating Accrington Stanley 3-1 at the Wham Stadium. A wonderstrike from Jack Harrison was followed up with goals from Junior Firpo and Luis Sinisterra to ensure the club's safe passage into the next round.

Fans have started to get excited over the prospect of a cup run this season and would love nothing better than to cheer on their own side at home. Elland Road has not played host to an FA Cup match since January 2016, where Leeds beat Rotherham United 2-0 in the third round thanks to goals from Muzzy Carayol and Souleymane Doukara.

And Marsch has also admitted that being able to play their fifth round match in front of their own supporters would mean a lot for not only the team, but also the city in general.

"Yeah, that's what I think," Marsch said when asked if he would want a home tie in the next round of the FA Cup. "It would be really great to play at Elland Road for such an important match and get our fans involved and get everybody excited in the city.

"We're happy that the team’s come together. We're happy that we've been able to push in this tournament, obviously a home draw would be would be great."
