Leeds United have announced Elland Road has reopened after closing to the public over the weekend. The club stated on Friday that the stadium and club shop would remain shut on the advice of the police due to a security threat.
Since then, a 20-year-old man has been arrested, with an investigation ongoing. A West Yorkshire police spokeswoman told Sky News: "Police were called to attend at Elland Road football stadium following reports of a security threat to the premises.
"Investigations are currently ongoing to establish the credibility of that threat. The report was received at 9.49pm last (Thursday) night."
In a brief Twitter post on Sunday morning, Leeds confirmed Elland Road had reopened for business. An update read: “West Yorkshire Police have advised Leeds United that Elland Road can reopen, effective immediately. We apologise for any inconvenience and we thank the public for their support.”
