A dirty Leeds takeaway was told to “clean the toilet pan” by disappointed inspectors who gave it a one-star food hygiene rating.
FFC in Harehills Lane was told to clean up multiple areas and inspectors were dismayed to find raw chicken stored next to lettuce. Staff, who were in need of immediate training, were seen using the same tool handle raw and cooked burgers, risking cross contamination
The takeaway, aka Fast Fried Chicken, was visited on May 11 and a one-star rating means ‘major improvements are necessary’. It’s the second lowest rating prior to immediate closure.

The bathroom needed a lot of work done. Not only did the toilet pan need a clean, there was no wash hand basin. They were also told to provide soap and hand drying facilities.
“Your food safety knowledge is inadequate. Train staff in food hygiene matters,” thundered the inspector in their report, who also told them to put in place a food allergen procedure.
They added: “The safety methods are not being followed,” after finding a food safety manual which was not up to date. FFC management was also told to clean the walls, floor and shelf in the cold room, the backdoor to the prep kitchen and canopy filters in the front cooking area.
Staff were seen washing raw chicken in the sink and then equipment with no disinfectant in-between. Raw chicken was being stored next to lettuce and staff were told to cover food in the fridge. They were also asked to clean out a freezer draw which contained frozen doner meat.
FFC provided no contact details online, otherwise management would have been asked for a comment. We encourage FFC to come forward if improvements have been made since the report was filed.
