Leeds set to get new Children's Hospital and UK's largest maternity centre as part of £20bn UK-wide project

The UK's biggest single-site maternity centre, a new adult hospital, and new home for Leeds Children's Hospital, are set to open in Leeds.

On Thursday, May 25, the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care made a statement to Parliament on the New Hospital Programme and the commitment to deliver 40 hospitals across the UK by 2030. He pledged that £20billion will be put towards the project, and help build three new Cohort schemes in Leeds city centre.

The new development will be a catalyst to regenerate part of the city centre. It will create an Innovation Village that will generate 4,000 new jobs and provide an economic boost of almost £13billion to the region.
