Four of Leeds Rhinos' new signings will feature in the Boxing Day clash with Wakefield Trinity. Rohan Smith has named his squad for the club, which features a number of academy prospects but none of the club's quota players.
Derrell Olpherts, James McDonnell, Justin Sangare and Leon Ruan will all make their first appearances after arriving in the off-season, though the game is too soon for Sam Lisone, Toby Warren, Luis Roberts and Luke Hooley, the latter of whom has recently undergone ankle surgery.
Smith will use the game to trial several players in different positions. Ash Handley will play at full-back, Max Simpson on the wing, Derrell Olpherts at centre and Morgan Gannon in the halves. The Rhinos boss is keen to add versatility within his ranks.
