Leeds Rhinos duo doubtful for Warrington Wolves clash as Rohan Smith's side offer reminder

Rohan Smith has confirmed both Cameron Smith and Justin Sangare are doubts for next week's clash with Warrington Wolves. The pair were both withdrawn during Friday's thrashing of Huddersfield Giants and are now both awaiting to learn the extent of injuries.

Frenchman Sangare was seen with ice strapped around his foot while Smith was withdrawn after suffering a knock to his knee. Smith, who eased talk surrounding his future after Leeds' emphatic win, stated that neither injury appeared to be serious.

But he admitted that with a short turnaround to contend with, both were doubtful for next Thursday. On Smith, he said: "We've been trying most games to give him a break either side of half time but it hasn't worked out that way. In some games we've needed him to keep playing, today I saw the break, gave him a little one and he got a bump to the knee two minutes after he went back on. Maybe I just need to leave him ut next time.

"You'd have to say he's some doubt but I'm not quite sure of the severity. We've a recovery review tomorrow so we'll know a little bit more then but those types of injuries, usually 48 hours is when you know if you're going to turn a corner. I don't think it's anything serious but he'd have to be in some doubt next week, Justin as well I would say."

It was a clinical performance by the Rhinos, who brushed woeful results against Castleford and Wakefield to one side with a much-needed victory.

“I’m very pleased with how we played, and more pleased with how we prepared and responded from a disappointing last showing that wasn’t up to standard.

“In this competition, I don’t think you ever expect to see a blow-out score coming, but you can always see a good performance. Every week we’ve been right in there with a chance, and if you’re always in with a chance you’re never too far from things going your way.”

At the same time, Smith insists he will not get carried away, though admitted the nature of both the performance and result will offer a reminder to doubters.

"I'm a one-week-at-a-time kind of guy. That will be the message. We enjoy it, I listened to a few songs there but tomorrow we start recovery and prepare for a tough battle against Warrington. But, for those that needed a reminder in and outside of the building, there it was."
