A Leeds pub has closed its doors for the next few weeks due to some essential flood works.
The Kirkstall Bridge Inn on Bridge Road will be shut until September whilst flood defence work takes place on the River Aire.
The Bridge will be shut whilst the major works take place. The River Aire requires upgraded defences following severe flooding earlier this year. In February two men were seen sitting in the pub's beer garden waist-high in flood water.
The Environment Agency warned that flood alerts were in place for the River Aire, Wyke Beck, Meanwood Beck and Wortley Beck due to torrential rain that battered Leeds.

The pub shared the news on its Instagram page saying: "The rumours are true! Our beloved Bridge is shutting for a few weeks but don’t worry we’ll be back shortly with an even bigger & better beer garden!
"We will be shut from August 6th until early September due to some essential flood defence work on the river (It’s not fun flooding!)
"There will be a couple of changes to get ready for the closure so please bare with us as we run down our menu. Don’t panic there’s plenty of beer & pizza!"
During the closure, regular visitors have been encouraged to visit one of their many other sites and they have thanked their customers for the support during this time.
