A Leeds bar is being celebrated as one of the city’s best kept secrets.
The Myrtle Tavern, based in Parkside Road, Meanwood, has been included in a prestigious TripAdvisor awards contest. The online guide’s Travellers' Choice Awards typically represents the top-rated and most popular restaurants.
This year, TripAdvisor sought to showcase lesser-known spots and places locals love with a brand-new subcategory revealing the best hidden gems. One of those establishments which features in the UK top 10 list of hidden gems is the Myrtle Tavern with the venue ranking in sixth.

For those who don’t know, and perhaps some might not given its hidden gem status, Myrtle Tavern is known for its quality food and drink offering. It has a large beer garden and regularly runs events.
Looking at TripAdvisor, it is clear to see their customers regularly dish out praise. There’s regular five out of five reviews.
We saw Jadeh113120 write: “Been meaning to visit this pub for ages. The food is absolutely delicious and the service was five star from the lovely Danielle. Proper homemade food cooked with love and care. It had cosy vibes and decorated nice for Halloween. Would definitely recommend it.” While Erbie added: “Lovely cosy pub with a great selection of beers and nice atmosphere. Sunday roasts were a decent size and good quality. Danielle was friendly and provided great service.”
Holsmf99 concluded: “Came for drinks and food, was served by Rebekah and shelagh who were so attentive and friendly! Such a lovely vibe In the marquee and I can’t wait to return.”
