Leeds Festival offers better value than Glastonbury according to a study of the UK’s biggest summer music festivals.
Topical given we’ve just seen the curtain fall on Glastonbury 2022 and this year’s Leeds Fest is getting nearer and nearer. The 50th celebration of the iconic Worthy Farm event was headlined by Beatles legend, Paul McCartney, Kendrick Lamar and the festival’s youngest-ever headliner Billie Eilish.
There was also a special appearance by Diana Ross on the Sunday afternoon of the fun. Business Name Generator has compared the trio of headliners at some of the UK’s biggest festivals against the cost of a ticket to see each headliner at their own concert, working out which bill-toppers provide the best value for money for UK festival-goers

Glasto 2022 cost £285 per ticket with the combined cost of tickets for headliner’s shows coming in at £204.25. For Leeds Festival, which will welcome Dave, Arctic Monkeys and Rage Against the Machine, the study suggests their concert tickets will come in at a combined £188.67 - against a £232.20 weekend ticket price.
So, in theory, that’s better value than Glastonbury. Although, the study does also omit the fact Leeds Festival, and its sister event in Reading, bill themselves as having six headliners now. As well as countless other acts forming the line up.
On Leeds Fest, the study found: “A trip to either Reading or Leeds Festival is estimated to cost festival goers £43.53 more than it would to catch each headliner - Dave, Arctic Monkeys and Rage Against the Machine at their own show.
“However, the real value for money at Reading and Leeds this year comes from the exclusivity of their headline acts. While Rage Against the Machine’s last London gig in 2010 was free of charge for their die-hard fans, it was also their only non-festival UK show in 22 years. Tickets for the rap rock icons' current US tour are priced at an equivalent of £101.97. Arctic Monkeys have not performed a UK concert since 2018, at that time tickets were priced at approximately £45.20.”
