Getting to and from festivals can be difficult, lugging clothes as well as a tent and camping gear onto trains and buses. Sometimes it is easier to get picked up and dropped off rather than using public transport, especially with train strikes disrupting services.
Leeds Festival is prepared for cars and has dedicated points at which music lovers can be easily dropped off, located just off the A64. There will be multiple zones in this pick up area to make it easier to find people in the masses.
One change this year is that there will be no drop off zone near the Yellow Gate, meaning everyone will be directed through to York Road for collections. Restrictions on roads have been imposed to ease traffic around the festival site over the weekend, particularly at busier times.

The A64 will be a one way system for the duration of the festival, meaning eastbound will be closed to traffic between the Fox and Grapes public house and the A1(M) / A64 roundabout. This closure will be in place from 4am on Wednesday, August 24 until 3pm on Monday, August 29.
Leeds has set up multiple zones (A-J) for pick up, although festival goers will not be able to organise ahead of time where to meet as the zones are subject to change depending on flow of traffic. The area will be well lit for the safety of patrons and there should be clear signage around.
Non festival traffic is urged to use other routes to avoid adding to the festival traffic, although all roads around Leeds are expected to be busy. Aberford and Thorner villages will see disruption with passes needed in the latter and no through routes or festival goer access for Aberford.
Roads will be strictly no stopping and towing will be in operation so drop off will only be possible in the designated areas at Leeds Festival. Parking is included in ticket prices and staff will direct any cars to drop off or parking spots.
A full map of the site is available on the Leeds Festival app as well as any further information for visitors.
