The cheapest and priciest homes sold in Leeds last month have been revealed - and buyers can buy properties for just £40,000 in some parts of the city.
A house in St Anns Lodge, St Anns Lane, sold for just over £41,000 in December, 2022, making it the cheapest home sold in the city that month, according to Property Solvers data.
It wasn't much cheaper than another home sold in Winrose Drive in Belle Isle, which sold for just £5,000 more.
Meanwhile on the other end of the scale the most expensive home sold in the city in December was in Manor House Lane near Alwoodley, going for £2,366,666.
It was nearly double the price of the second most expensive house snapped up last month, a home in Ling Lane in Scarcroft, which sold for just under £1,549,000.
Average house prices across the UK increased by 10 per cent in the year up to May 2021 - the highest annual growth rate the UK has seen since September 2007, according to figures from the Office for National Statistics.
It is thought changes in housing preferences and the Chancellor Rishi Sunak's stamp duty cut last year have helped drive up house prices.
Until the end of June last year, properties in England up to the value of £500,000 would incur no tax. That threshold decreased to £250,000 at the end of September. Sales were also highly affected last year due to the impact of coronavirus.
