A popular Rothwell coffee shop has won Hospitality Business of the Year after continued success.
Gray's of Rothwell was opened in 2019 by Heather Amos and her husband Giles. The couple opened a premises in Commercial Street after the former No 37 Café and Tea Rooms was put up for sale.
The Leeds coffee shop offers a range of speciality hot drinks, lunch, afternoon snacks. It is also known for selling cards and gifts in store or online. The venue also hosts afternoon teas from Monday to Friday every week, and cheese and wine nights.

A spokesperson for Gray's said: "We pride ourselves on providing the best quality tea and coffee. Our aim is to continually source great quality & local produce from around Leeds and beyond, and to support independent businesses & our local community alike." The restaurant has been named as one of Rothwell's top five restaurants, and gained a Trip Advisor Travellers' Choice Award in 2022.
And over the weekend, the restaurant won the Hospitality Business of the Year Award. Announcing the news of their award on social media, a spokesperson for Gray's said: "It’s a very rare thing, but today I’m a bit lost for words. Last night was the Simply Ladies inc awards. Unfortunately we were unable to attend, as we had our evening event on.
"However, late on in the evening I received a message from the lovely ladies at The Style Attic to say that we were the winners of the Hospitality Business of the Year award!!! We honestly can’t believe it. We are so incredibly humbled by the recognition and awards we have received over the last 12 months. Thank you so much to everyone who voted for us.
"So come see us this week to celebrate. Feel like it’s time for a competition. It’s been a while and it would be our way of saying thank you, so keep your eyes peeled for that too." The post raked in over 600 likes and comments on Facebook as customers and local businesses applauded their hard work.
Linda Young said: "Congratulations and so well deserved." Hilary Porter added: "Well done to you and your team, well deserved for all your efforts."
Lisa Harrison said: "Fantastic news. Local businesses celebrating - well deserved. Congratulations." Glenn Preer added: "Congratulations, you guys are a fantastic team. Well done."
