Strike action has been called off at Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA) while the trade union consider a "new, improved" pay deal put to them by airport bosses.
Security staff had agreed to walk out during the Bank Holiday weekend in a "desperate" move to improve their pay while bearing the brunt of "long weeks, long shifts, struggling to get holidays approved".
They were set to walk-out for three days following a dispute over pay - which saw a ballot return of 93 per cent vote in favour of industrial action.

GMB Union will now take time to consult with members over an improved pay deal put forward by airport bosses.
GMB negotiator Joe Wheatley said: “Following a number of commitments put forward by Leeds Bradford bosses to improve pay, we now need to fully consult with our members working in security at the airport.
“GMB's strike committee has agreed to suspend next week’s planned strike action to give us the facility, time and space to consider the new, improved offer with our members.”
This positive step comes after a heated conflict between GMB and LBA bosses. LBA CEO Vincent Hodder had previously slammed the union, calling their actions "cynical" and admonishing them for calling on strike action before discussing new pay options.
