Leeds Bradford Airport has confirmed it remains open and has issued a statement as bad weather hits the city.

Major weather warnings are in place for Leeds today as heavy snow is set to hit the city throughout the day. Flurries began on Wednesday afternoon, with the heaviest snow expected between 11am and 3pm on Thursday.

As part of the new amber weather warning the Met Office put in place for Thursday and Friday, air travel is likely to be affected. Flights at Leeds Bradford Airport could face disruption as the snow gets heavier throughout the day.
