Leeds baker goes on furious rant after customer reported him for using ‘illegal sprinkles’

Get Baked’s founder is afraid he’ll be able to find any legal sprinkles in the UK

An independent bakery in Leeds has been reported to Trading Standards for using ‘illegal sprinkles’. They have since taken to social media to share a furious (and not to mention, hilarious) rant on ‘Sprinklegate.’

The founder of Get Baked told their 53,000 Facebook followers: “This weekend has been utterly sensational, we’ve had customer visits from countless cities, sold f*** tonnes of Bruce in various forms, oh and not to mention a lovely visit from Trading Standards on Friday after someone reported us for using what are apparently illegal sprinkles.”

The founder later explained that Trading Standards ceased the US-imported sprinkles for containing colourings that “aren’t allowed over here” after one person complained.

The sprinkles are essential to their best-selling recipes: a Matilda-inspired Birthday Bruce chocolate cake and Raspberry Glazed Donut Cookies. Now, Get Baked are concerned about the difficulty of sourcing new sprinkles in the UK.

Explaining that he has genuinely lost sleep over this, he said that it’s “highly unlikely that we will find any legal sprinkles that we will use as a replacement.”

“British sprinkles just aren’t the same, they’re totally sh** and I hate them”, he added. “Anyone who’s into sprinkles will know what I’m on about,”

“Sprinkles you can get in this country are totally sh**.”

He later directed his anger at a man called Dan, referencing the iconic episode of Come Dine With Me.

“To whoever reported us to Trading Standards, (Dan?) all I have to say is, dear lord, what a sad little life Jane”, he said.

“My daughter, who is now 7 months, has to live with the fact that daddy can’t take her to Disneyland, because man can’t sell any f***ing cookies.

“Done and done.”
