Leeds 10k 2022 road closures, route, start time and how to sign up

Leeds 10k will welcome lots of runners today who will be raising money for good causes and we have all the important details about the event.

The event will be taking place on Sunday, July 3, with those participating taking on a Leeds city centre route. Associated good causes include the Jane Tomlinson Appeal, Mind and Leeds Hospitals Charity.

Over the last 15 years the Leeds 10K has grown to become one of the highlights of the city’s events calendar and is hugely popular. Throughout the route that takes in many of the city’s historic landmarks and crowds always come out in force to cheer on the competitors.

A fantastic atmosphere and friendly volunteers help to make the event truly unforgettable for all involved. Ahead of the event, we’ve compiled the key information you’ll need to know for Leeds 10k 2022.

The route and timings

Leeds 10k 2022 will start outside Parkinson Steps at 9am on Sunday, July 3. The route will take in some of the city’s best-loved sites and landmarks. On the route, runners will encounter Headingley Stadium and Leeds First Direct Arena with it concluding by the city’s Art Gallery.

Road closures

To ensure the smooth running of the event there will be a number of road closures in place. Whether you are attending the event or travelling around Leeds it will be worth making a note of them. You can find all the Leeds 10k road closure information below:

  • Albion Street - The Headrow to Great George Street - 8am until 11.45am
  • Blenheim Terrace - The whole from Blackman Lane - 4am until 11.30am
  • Calverley Street - South Parade to Great George Street 4am until 3pm
  • Cavendish Road - Completely 4am until 11.30am
  • Clarendon Road - Woodhouse Lane to Woodlsey Road - 8am until 10am
  • Cookridge Street - Great George Street to Portland Gate - 8.45am until 3pm
  • Cookridge Street - The Headrow to Great George Street - 4am until 3pm
  • Great George Street - Woodhouse Lane to Calverley Street 8.45am until 3pm
  • Grove Lane - Grove Road to Meanwood Road - 8am until 11am
  • Grove Road - Grove Lane to Monk Bridge Road - 8am until 11am
  • Headingley Lane - Woodhouse Lane to Otley Road - 8am until 10.30am
  • Hyde Park Road - Moorland Road to Woodhouse Lane - 8am until 10am
  • Lovell Park Road - Complete - 8am until 11.45am
  • Meanwood Road - Bentley Lane to Stainbeck Road - 8am until 11am
  • Meanwood Road - Sackville Street to Stainbeck Road - 8am until 11.15am
  • Merrion Street - Woodhouse Lane to Wade Lane - 8am until 11.45am
  • Monk Bridge Road - Moor Road to Grove Road - 8am until 11am
  • Moorland Road - Complete - 8am until 10am
  • Oatland Lane - Complete - 8am until 11.45am
  • Oatland Road - Complete - 8am - 11.45am
  • Otley Road - Headingley Lane to North Lane 8am until 10.30am
  • Otley Road - Shaw Lane to North Lane (southbound – northbound access maintained from North Lane) - 8am until 10.30am
  • Park Row - The Headrow to South Parade - 4am until 3pm
  • Rampart Road - Complete 8am until 10am
  • Shaw Lane - Complete - 8am until 11am
  • The Headrow - Calverley Street to Albion Street - 4am until 3pm
  • The Headrow - Oxford Place to Eastgate/Calverley Street - 4am until 3pm
  • Wade Lane - Complete (northbound – southbound access maintained from Belgrave Street) - 8am until 11.45am
  • Woodhouse Lane - St Mark’s Road to Victoria Road - 8am until 10am
  • Woodhouse Street - Woodhouse Lane to Delph Lane - 8am until 10am

In addition to this some additional measures will see parking suspended around the route. You can these details below with no parking in place from the following times:

  • Blenheim Terrace - From 6pm on Saturday July 2 until 11.30am on Sunday, July 3
  • Calverley Street - From 6pm on Saturday, July 2 until 3pm on Sunday, July 3
  • Cookridge Street - From 6pm on Saturday, July 2 until 3pm on Sunday, July 3
  • Grove Road - From 6pm on Saturday, July 2 until 11am on Sunday, July 3

  • General entry - £33
  • UK athletic club member - £31
