Lee Cheuk-yan, Chow Hang-tung: The activists behind Hong Kong's Tiananmen vigils

Hong Kong: Lee Cheuk-yan and Chow Hang-tung are two prominent Hong Kong activists who helped lead the group behind the city's massive annual vigils commemorating the 1989 Tiananmen Square crackdown. They were charged in 2021 with inciting subversion under Hong Kong's national security law.

The former leaders of the now-disbanded Hong Kong Alliance in Support of Patriotic Democratic Movements of China were found guilty of inciting subversion Friday in a national security case that has drawn international attention, with critics saying it highlights the erosion of freedoms in the territory under the law imposed by Beijing.
