LeBron James and his production house, The SpringHill Company, are planning to work with Peyton Manning's Omaha Productions and Barack and Michelle Obama's Higher Ground Productions to recreate a documentary series that follows the lives of professional basketball players, according to a report by The Wall Street Journal. The NBA is also involved in the discussions.
This series would be similar to the Netflix show on NFL players called "Quarterback" that released in July and topped the streamer's charts.
Omaha produced the show alongside 2PM Productions, which is Patrick Mahomes' production company. The show followed the 2022 season of three NFL quarterbacks: Mahomes, Minnesota Vikings QB Kirk Cousins and then-Atlanta Falcons QB Marcus Mariota.
Manning's production company has become one of the more established companies in the sports production space in recent years. Omaha produces the Emmy-award winning alternative broadcast for ESPN's Monday NFL coverage called "Monday Night Football With Peyton and Eli." The company was valued at $410 million in Q1 2023 after an investment from Peter Chernin's North Road Company.

The SpringHill Company has been a staple in the space as well, producing films such as Netflix's "Hustle," and "Space Jam: A New Legacy." It was valued at $725 million in late 2021 after investment from Red Bird Capital and Nike.
High Ground produces podcasts such as Michelle Obama's "The Light Podcast." It has a few movies set to release on Netflix within the year, including "Leave The World Behind" starring Julia Roberts and Ethan Hawke.
