The Hamas Palestinian group denounced in a statement early on Friday the Israeli assault on Lebanon that targeted the vicinity of the southern city of Tyre.
In the statement, Hamas condemned “in the strongest terms the blatant Zionist attack on Lebanon by targeting at dawn the vicinity of the city of Tyre.”
The Israeli military said that it targeted installations of the Hamas Palestinian group, in southern Lebanon, and resumed air strikes on Gaza after fighters fired more rockets from Lebanon at Israel on Thursday night.
It added in a statement that it would not allow Hamas to operate from Lebanon and held Lebanon "responsible for every directed fire emanating from its territory".
