A ceasefire deal between Lebanon and Israel was announced on Tuesday, putting a halt to nearly 14 months of fighting.
The warring began shortly after the conflict between Israel and Hamas escalated on October 7, 2023, with Hezbollah – a Lebanese militant group – firing rockets at Israel in response to its assault on Gaza. Hassan Nasrallah, the group’s late leader, reportedly pledged to continue firing at Israel until it stopped its attack on Gaza.
