Leandro Trossard has provided an update on his future amid interest from Chelsea ahead of the January transfer window. The 27-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to the Blues since his former boss Graham Potter swapped the Amex Stadium for Stamford Bridge.
According to Journalist Sacha Tavolieri, as quoted by The Express, higher-ups at Chelsea have closely monitored the Belgium international's progress in recent weeks and have been left impressed by his performances.
Trossard, who sees his contract at Brighton expire in the summer, has featured 12 times for the Seagulls in the Premier League this season, directly contributing towards nine goals. Ironically, one of which came against Chelsea last month as Roberto De Zerbi's side trounced the Blues 4-1 on the south coast.

His impressive performances have helped Brighton clamber into the top eight, warranting the interest of Potter. Tavolieri adds that Chelsea could be tempted into signing Trossard sooner rather than later, with a January switch potentially on the cards.
Speaking to Het Laatste Nieuws, the Belgian was quizzed on speculation regarding his future at Brighton. Trossard said: "Chelsea have in any case not yet reported.
"Not with Brighton and not with me. I have to wait and see. I want to finish strong at Brighton and leave for Qatar with that good feeling."
Then, the winger was asked for his thoughts on Potter's decision to leave Brighton. He said: "That was very strange, because I’ve always played under Potter at Brighton and have got better year after year.
"You go through the full preparation and suddenly a new coach is there in September. Then you don’t know what to expect, but the reactions about De Zerbi were only positive. He really wants to play football and the way he wants to play suits me perfectly."
When asked again about a move to Chelsea last month, Trossard said that he'll be focusing on the World Cup before beginning to consider his future. The World Cup final is on December 18, with the January transfer window set to open two weeks or so later.
"It's very difficult to answer that," the £12.9million-rated winger told Play Sports. "That will have to wait until [after the World Cup]. I'm not on it at all right now. Brighton and the World Cup are the next goals. Afterwards, we'll see where it ends."
