A leaked US intelligence assessment suggests Chinese groups helped Iran improve attacks on American targets in the Middle East, CNN reported during Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit to the US.

The allegations emerged as Donald Trump hosted Xi for talks and a state dinner at the White House.
