May 2023’s selection of PS Plus Essential titles have leaked – and it includes three games that feature native versions on both PS4 and PS5.
Regular as clockwork, the PS Plus lineup for May 2023 has leaked slightly ahead of time. Usually we’d expect PlayStation to announce the selection officially on its blog at around 4pm on the last Wednesday of the month, which is today. But a certain third-party website with a reputation for this sort of thing has shed a light on what PS4 and PS5 subscribers will be playing this month a few hours earlier. It appears to be a decent lineup, particularly for racing fans.
GRID Legends and Descenders will test your racing abilities in both the motorsport and mountain biking worlds. GRID Legends introduced a story mode to the franchise for the first time titled Driven To Glory which takes a docuseries approach to the in-game racing world, and features soon-to-be Doctor Who star Ncuti Gatwa as a rival racer. Meanwhile Descenders is inspired by the legendary Skate series and features procedurally generated mountain biking trails for you to test your off-road biking skills on.
The leak comes courtesy of reputable website Dealabs (posted by Twitter user @Billbil_kun who has been accurately leaking lineups for a long time now), who confirms in a blog post that PS Plus May 2023’s lineup will consist of three titles compatible with both PS5 and PS4 across the board. It’s worth noting as PS Plus Essential subscribers receiving three native PS5 versions isn’t always guaranteed, with most months comprised of at least one PS5 game with the other two being PS4 titles that are forwards compatible. This month, though, players on either Sony platform can enjoy all.
