Michigan stands accused of perpetrating a sophisticated sign-stealing scheme, allegedly using illegal in-person scouting and video to gain valuable information about opponents.
However, new leaked images suggest that the Wolverines may have been the targets of some form of sign-stealing themselves.

Sports Illustrated obtained two images that contain a breakdown of Michigan’s 2022 offensive signals, as decoded by a rival school, according to a source familiar with the situation.
Per a source, a former coach at a rival school contacted Michigan with the documents—which he claimed were passed on to the Wolverines “from other Big Ten schools,” as SI’s Pat Forde and Richard Johnson wrote Tuesday. A source said the former coach did it to support coach Jim Harbaugh.
The images can be seen below.
The images include gestures on the left and their corresponding plays on the right.
The Associated Press first reported Monday evening that the Wolverines possessed these images and that the former coach passed them along with intent to help Harbaugh clear his name.
No. 3 Michigan (9–0) visits No. 11 Penn State (8–1) on Saturday, with kickoff scheduled for 12 p.m. ET at Beaver Stadium.
