A League of Ireland footballer has received death threats in the aftermath of a match on Monday evening.
Cork City striker Louis Britton highlighted the disgusting abuse he was sent on social media after their clash with Waterford FC in Turner's Cross.
Britton came off the bench for the First Division leaders, having spent five months on loan at the Blues at the start of this season.

Having been recalled by parent club Bristol City, the 21-year-old signed with Colin Healy's side on the same afternoon that Waterford confirmed his recalling.
However, in the wake of Monday's 0-0 draw in Turner's Cross, Britton was sent a number of awful messages - including a voice message which threated that he would "have his throat slit" should he step foot in Waterford again.
Other messages saw users wish for Britton to "do his ACL" and urging him to "book a hospital apppointment" and wanting him to suffer a "career ending injury".
Britton's post came hours after Premier League star Joachim Andersen highlighted that he had been sent hundreds of similar messages after his confrontation with Liverpool star Darwin Nunez.
The Uruguayan forward was shown a straight red card after planting his forehead straight into Andersen's face following a heated exchange.
On Tuesday, Denmark international Andersen called on the Premier League and Instagram to take action, as he revealed some of the dire messages he had been sent in the aftermath of the fixture.
"Got maybe 3-400 of these messages last night," revealed Andersen on Tuesday. "I understand you support a team but have some respect and stop act tough online [sic]."
Andersen then provided some screenshots of the messages (warning, they contain strong language and death threats). "F*** you," read one message. "I will kill you. You and your family. F*** you tomorrow. See you. You will died [sic]."
