Lead singer of Puddle of Mudd, Wes Scantlin, was involved in a stand-off with police in Burbank, Calif., after allegedly resisting arrest. The incident occurred when Scantlin was pulled over for a traffic violation in his Hummer H2, and police discovered an outstanding warrant related to allegations of possessing a weapon at an airport.
Upon being asked to exit his vehicle, Scantlin reportedly refused, leading to the involvement of a crisis negotiator. Despite continued resistance, officers resorted to pepper-spraying him. Eventually, SWAT members had to break the car window and use 'non-lethal' pepper balls to secure his surrender.
Following the altercation, Scantlin was taken to a hospital for treatment and is reported to be in stable condition. He was subsequently arrested for the outstanding warrant and a new charge of resisting arrest, with a court date set for August 20.
This is not the first time Scantlin has had brushes with the law. In 2012, he was arrested after an incident with a flight attendant, and in August 2015, he faced his second DUI charge within a month, along with a marijuana possession charge.
Scantlin has also been known for on-stage meltdowns, including making accusations and threats during performances. The singer's history of legal troubles has been a recurring theme in his career.
