According to NFL reporter Ian Rapoport, recently unretired inside linebacker Myles Jack is in Pittsburgh on Monday and plans to sign with the team’s practice squad, pending he passes a physical.
Jack was on the Steelers in 2022 and actually led the team in tackles. Jack proved to be a solid run defender but never provided the Steelers the coverage ability or splash plays they hoped for when they originally signed him. When the Steelers front office gutted out the inside linebacker depth chart in the offseason, Jack was not part of the team’s plan.
However, due to injuries, Jack looks to be returning and it shouldn’t be long before Jack is on the 53-man roster and getting snaps.
Myles Jack is in the building today to take a physical, and if all goes well, sources say the plan is to sign with the #Steelers practice squad. Back from the retirement. https://t.co/bYIhP65GgI

The Steelers lost starting inside linebacker Cole Holcomb and Kwon Alexander to season-ending injuries on back-to-back weeks. Against the Cleveland Browns, practice-squad linebacker Mykal Walker was called into action but Jack could replace him sooner rather than later.
