A lay day has been called on the World Surf League's second stop at Sunset Beach as organisers wait for better waves.
The final heats of the men's first round and the women's round-of-16 were put on hold for at least 24 hours on Tuesday morning (Wednesday AEDT) on Hawaii's North Shore.
"We're definitely hoping to run some heats tomorrow and Thursday," WSL competition boss Renato Hickel said.
"The one factor is the wind is not in our favour. But we also have some swell at the end of the waiting period we're watching, so we have some options.
"We will come back tomorrow morning for the next call."
Australian Jack Robinson is the early men's leader after his maiden Pipeline win last week, while Tyler Wright was runner-up in the women's season opener in Hawaii.
