Law firm Bevan Brittan records record revenue of more than £60m

Law firm Bevan Brittan has reported record revenue of just over £60m in a ninth consecutive year of growth.

In a trading update for the year ending April 30, the legal practice - which has its head office in Bristol - saw income rise by 7.2% to £60.08m, up from £56.1m in the previous 12 months.

Profit was up 6.6% to £15.7m in the financial year 21/22, with the firm identifying growth in financial services (up by 58%), independent health and social care (29%) and energy and resource management (24%).

Managing partner Duncan Weir said the “strong outcome” demonstrated the benefit of the firm diversifying its markets.

Mr Weir said: “Exceeding £60m is a significant milestone for us but there is more to come. This has been a team effort and our ability to attract more high-quality, high-profile clients and recruits to Bevan Brittan shows that we are in a strong position to deliver further growth in the current financial year and beyond.

“It also puts us in a strong position to consider options beyond organic growth, including acquisitions. We see a number of potential opportunities to develop our business further and have already had some interest but we will only pursue an acquisition if it was the right move for us.”

During the previous financial year Bevan Brittan was appointed to the Crown Commercial Service (CCS) Central Government legal services panel, and reappointed to local government legal frameworks EM Lawshare, the London Borough Legal Alliance and the NHS Resolution legal panel.

It announced in May that it had promoted 10% of its lawyers, with 32 colleagues successful across its four offices, including five new Partners, a new Legal Director, 13 Senior Associates and 13 new Associates.

As well as its HQ on Queen Street in Bristol city centre, Bevan Brittan also has offices in London, Birmingham and Leeds.
