A field that has been burning with a lava-like substance "for three years" has been described as a "serious risk to life" by a dad.
The worried parent captured the smouldering soil on camera this week and claimed that "if you were to fall into that there would be nothing left of you".
Council chiefs said that a disused coal mine beneath the site is to blame for the burning of the field in East Ayrshire, in south-west Scotland.
