Lauren Goodger hides black eye on social media after being 'attacked after baby's funeral'

Lauren Goodger covered up her black eye in the first photo she has shared to social media since she was allegedly attacked on the day of her baby’s funeral, writes The Mirror. The 35-year-old shared a selfie of herself showing off her new hairdo on Instagram and took care to hide her injury.

The former Towie star told her 850,000 followers she was “slowly getting back to normal” as she practised some “self love”. “Today was the first day out for some self love,” the 35-year-old captioned the post. Tagging her hairdresser @morghairygodmother she added: “One step at a time to going back slowly to normal life. Small steps #selflove.”

The post comes just one day after Lauren was seen out in public for the first time with a black eye. The alleged attack is said to have occurred hours after a private funeral was held for her baby daughter Lorena, who died shortly after being born last month.

Police said a man was arrested on suspicion of assault and later bailed. In a statement the Metropolitan Police said: ‘Police were called at 00:37hrs on Thursday, 4 August to reports of an altercation at a residential address in Upminster, Essex.

“Officers attended. At the scene a woman, aged 30s, was found with facial injuries. A man [...] was arrested on suspicion of assault. He was taken to an east London police station and subsequently bailed pending further enquiries."

Following the alleged attack, Lauren's sister Nicola shared a sweet snap of the star's one-year-old daughter Larose as she spoke of Lauren's emotional strength. "This gorgeous little girl doesn't even know how lucky she is to have such a strong amazing mum. As long as you have each other you'll both be fine," she wrote.

Back in early July, Lauren shared the heartbreaking news her second child – a little girl called Lorena - had died after being born with the umbilical cord around her neck. Sharing a black and white image of her baby's hand touching hers, she wrote: “Lorena R.I.P 08.07.22.’

The reality TV star went on to say she was “broken” following her baby’s death and that she would “never get over this”. She said: “She was the most beautiful healthy baby I’ve ever seen just like her sister @babylarose.x

“Words can’t describe as a mother losing your baby that I carried for all these months perfectly and gave birth too for my angel to be taken from me. There was no or labour complications and she was fine & healthy but I am not going into detail right now just know that there was nothing wrong with her or myself she was perfect I can’t understand it she is so so beautiful Larose twin so similar.. I am broken.”
