Laura Woods swiftly rejected an offer from Love Island star Charlie Brake after he asked her out for dinner following Arsenal's 3-1 win over West Ham United on Boxing Day.
The Gunners came from behind to earn all three points at the Emirates Stadium thanks to strikes from Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Eddie Nketiah. Said Benrahma had put the Hammers ahead in the first-half, before Mikel Arteta's side turned the game on its head with a dominant second-half performance to stretch their lead at the top of the tree.
During the game, Woods took to social media to comment on Ben White's display after he made his first competitive appearance since leaving the England camp early at the World Cup for personal reasons. It didn't seem as though White's performance was affected by what happened in Qatar, however, as he did superbly for Arteta's men.
Woods tweeted: " Ben White is magic," to her 662,000 followers. In response, 2018 Love Island star Brake tried his luck in the comments. Brake responded: "You're magic," complete with a wand emoji.
The ITV and talkSPORT presenter replied with three laughing emojis and a simple: "Thank you Charlie." But Charlie was not done there, though, as he added: "Dinner?"
However, Woods politely shut down the invite. She said: "I'm not hungry but thank you."
Brake, meanwhile, didn't seem too bothered as he added an extra tweet on Tuesday morning, writing: "If you don’t buy a ticket you don’t win the raffle."
Fans took to social media to react to Brake's rejection, with one asking whether Brake would like some 'cream with that piece', while another admitted the fire brigade should've been called.
One said: "That’s a pie and a half albeit one that won’t be eaten cos she’s not hungry!" Another wrote: "Yesss Woodsy!! @Charlie_Brake would you like cream with that pie?"
And a third added: "Someone better phone the fire brigade to put those flames out from that crash and burn." A fourth commented: "Aim for the moon Charlie, at least if you fail, you'll land amongst the table for one, please."
Woods regularly uses brutal responses shut down trolls - as once she aimed a brutal dig at a Tottenham fan after being told that Arsenal had just committed the "biggest collapse of all time". This was all after the Gunners lost 2-0 at Arsenal back in May - to all but end their chances of finishing in the top-four given Tottenham needed just a point against bottom team Norwich City on the final day.
After the Gunners' "collapse" was pointed out by a Spurs fan, she said: "It’s not the biggest collapse of all time, Nick and I don’t mind you calling me bias because I am an Arsenal fan. I will say as well, at one point of the season which was months ago, we were saying if Arsenal get top four it’s an overachievement, I stand by exactly what I said then, 100 per cent."
