TalkSPORT host Laura Woods couldn't hold back her laughter as Wrexham fan Karl 'Bootlegger' Phillips shared how he celebrated the club's historic promotion at the weekend.
The Red Dragons, who have become a global sensation since being taken over by Hollywood megastars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, ended their 15-year exile from the Football League on Saturday evening by clinching the National League title.
Wrexham's 3-1 win over Boreham Wood at the Racecourse sparked jubilant scenes in north Wales, with Reynolds and McElhenney in the thick of the celebrations. And less than 24 hours after the big win, several of the squad joined one of the club's more recognisable fans for some more boozy antics.
Phillips - known by many as 'Bootlegger - is a stout Wrexham fan who has built up a following on social media due to his matchday videos and tweets. He was in town when he ran into some of the squad - and by the sounds of it, they had a night to remember.
Speaking to Woods - who could barely contain her laughter - and Ally McCoist, Phillips told how he ended up in the same pub as Dragons captain Ben Tozer and a handful of other players who were still toasting promotion.
He told talkSPORT: “I went for a quiet bit of dinner yesterday to the Fat Boar pub in town and little did I know that the whole team were upstairs having dinner themselves! There’s one or two videos floating around on Twitter but little did I know I’d be dancing on the tables dancing with my top off with Ben Tozer!”
Despite his boozy night with Wrexham's promotion heroes, Phillips has yet to meet Reynolds and McElhenney. But 'The Captain' hasn't given up hope of sharing a cold one with the Hollywood duo. He added: “[The owners] might have heard of me, but I’m yet to meet them but hopefully one day they’ll come for a pint of Bootlegger in my kitchen.”

Prior to Tozer's night on the tiles with Phillips, Wrexham's star strikers Ollie Palmer and Paul Mullin had already gone viral with their celebrations after the 3-1 win over Boreham Wood.
Palmer, who joined the club back in January 2022 from AFC Wimbledon, live streamed himself driving slowly through Wrexham town centre in the open boot of a car in the early hours of Sunday morning.
And Mullin, who bagged a brilliant brace to seal the Vanarama National League title, was captured living it up in a Wrexham branch of McDonalds before leading a bunch of raucous fans in a chant of "F*** the Tories!".
Once the celebrations eventually die down, the Dragons, who have already bagged a record 110 points, finish off their National League campaign with a trip to Torquay at the weekend.
