Laura Tobin warns 'snow more likely at Easter than Christmas' as she gives tough forecast

Laura Tobin has warned that Brits are more likely to see snow at Easter than at Christmas as she issued a slightly miserable weather forecast for the coming weeks.

The 40-year-old Good Morning Britain meteorologist appeared on Lorraine with Ranvir Singh, who is sitting in for regular host Lorraine Kelly during the Easter break.

At the end of the interview, the TV presenter asked the question ITV viewers at home were dying to know: “Is the weather going to get better?”

But Laura did not look hopeful as she replied: “More sunshine into the weekend, with a few showers, a bit cold.”

She then added: “Warmer next week, but wet. So, unsettled British weather.

"I’m trying to look for that heatwave, but it’s more likely to snow at Easter than at Christmas," she added.

"Easter’s just around the corner. Anything can happen, she predicted.

This comes after Laura predicted that this summer in the UK will reach “record-breaking highs” as temperatures continue to soar amid the climate crisis.

The Good Morning Britain star said that she wouldn't be surprised if British people experienced highs of almost 40-degrees this summer as we've seen March temperatures reach a whopping 20-degrees.

Speaking exclusively to The Mirror about her predictions, Laura said: “We always say the weather has a memory. So, we'll often look back to previous ones. But I think we will have a prolonged hot spell.

“I think - like we have done nearly every single year - get to, or close to record-breaking highs.

“There will definitely be records broken. Maybe records for like different towns and cities and villages - but the chances of us breaking the highest temperature on record - which was something like 38.7 degrees - is very high and I can see it happening.”

Laura added: “There is at least a 50% chance that we will break it this summer.”

Despite the fact that the majority of UK citizens would be overjoyed by Laura's admission, the broadcast meteorologist has insisted that there is no such thing as 'good' or 'bad' weather.

The ITV star revealed that from the very start of her career, she was taught to never assume or use the terms 'good and bad weather' - due to the fact some people hate the sun, while others lap it up.

“I was always taught when I was broadcasting the weather and presenting the weather to never say 'good weather' or 'bad weather', because actually, weather is in the eye of each beholder and completely different to everyone,” Laura explained.

Lorraine airs weekdays at 9am on ITV
