Laura Loomer is wrong on H-1B: Indian-American body says foreign hires fill shortage, US workers not being replaced

As Donald Trump aide Laura Loomer, a MAGA activist and a Conservative commentator, apologized for her past hateful comments about Indians but maintained that she would take back her criticism of the H-1B visa program, the Indian American Advocacy Council said Laura Loomer was wrong about H-1B. "H-1B workers aren’t 'cheap labor”, federal law requires prevailing wages, and recent estimates show new H-1B pay averages ~$110K+ ( Higher than US average )," the statement said.

Most of those who are hired on H-1B visa programs fill a real shortage, and they don't replace Americans, the council said, citing figures that AI and advanced tech research rely heavily on global talent, including H-1Bs. One in four US physicians is foreign-born and many serve in rural areas, the council said. Engineers are building infrastructures across high-growth states like Texas and Arizona, the statement said.
