Laura Anderson has revealed that her mum "fancies" her Celebs Go Dating co-star and current beau Gary Lucy as their romance continues to blossom.
The Love Island alum was a last-gasp addition to the popular E4 reality dating show following the end of her five-year on-and-off relationship with former Another Level singer Dane Bowers earlier this year.
The 33-year-old former air hostess ditched her life in the sunshine of Dubai to be among the host of celebrity stars to find romance with the help of experts Paul C Brunson and Anna Williamson. However, Laura found love with one of her co-stars while filming the show, which is currently on our screens.
The 12th series of Celebs Go Dating started last month with the likes of Love Island winner Liam Reardon, The Only Way Is Essex star Pete Wicks, singer Sinitta and Cecilie Fjellhoy, who appeared on Netflix documentary The Tinder Swindler, among the stars to feature.
Laura and former Hollyoaks actor Gary were first spotted cosying up together in September before going from strength to strength after making their romance official a month later.
Speaking in an interview with OK!, Laura has opened up about her relationship with the 41-year-old dad-of-two and admitted she used to watch her partner when he starred in the drama Footballers' Wives in the early 2000s.
She said: "My mum fancies him! And my friends are obsessed. One of them messaged me the other day and she’s like, 'Can you believe we used to watch Footballers' Wives and you’re now dating Gary Lucy, how does that feel?'
"And I’m like, 'up!' I don’t think about it like that. But then I was looking at him on a date and I was like, 'It’s weird that I know your face. You’re like a celebrity.' It’s like you would recognise them anywhere because you’ve just seen them so much."
Laura added: "He makes me feel comfortable and he makes me feel quite adored and protected, which is really nice. He’s a gentleman."
Despite appearing on the E4 programme looking for love with various dates, Laura describes her time with the EastEnders star as "the happiest I've been in a long time".
Gary split from his wife Natasha Gray in 2018 after four years of marriage.
