Latest West Ham team news for Brentford clash with Vladimir Coufal and Michail Antonio updates

West Ham are hoping to have Michail Antonio available to face Brentford on Saturday after he picked up a knock on Thursday night.

The 33-year-old scored the winner for the Hammers in the 2-1 victory against AZ Alkmaar in the Europa Conference League semi-final first leg at the London Stadium, with Moyes confessing he was considering substituting the forward before his goal.

But Moyes admits that he has been feeling the effect of a knock sustained in the game, with West Ham set to assess the forward among others for the game on Sunday.

"We are still assessing quite a lot of the players," Moyes said, speaking at his pre-match press conference on Friday.

“So, we are getting them all back in and trying to see how they are. Obviously, there are knocks and bruises from the game, but I am hoping that Mick [Antonio] is not too bad. I think [he will be available on Sunday]. But we have got to assess them and see how we are.”

Defender Angelo Ogbonna is a doubt for the game, with the Italian centre-back missing the match in midweek due to sickness, although Moyes says he is hopeful that he may be in contention at the weekend.

Meanwhile, the West Ham boss has provided a positive update on Czech full-back Vladimir Coufal, with the defender returning to training after sustaining a hamstring injury against Manchester City, which has seen him miss the last two games for the Hammers.

“He is starting to do some light jogging,” Moyes explained. “And so, he’s improving but he has just got a slight hamstring tweak and you are always not sure when the right time is [to bring him back to for match action].

“But he is a boy who wants to play and wants to get back quickly so it is always a positive sign and hopefully, we get him back soon too.”
