The New England Patriots defense has held their own this season, despite the 38-3 loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday.
However, the same cannot be said about the offensive unit, which is the second-worst in scoring in the NFL. The Patriots offense, which is the 31st worst scoring offense in the league, is averaging only 13.8 points per game, per TeamRankings.com.

This is an alarming trend, given that the defensive unit is one of the strongest in football, even after the ugly performance in Week 4. Meanwhile, the Patriots offense has scored over 20 points just twice in four games. The lone win of the season came against the New York Jets in a game that they won by a 15-10 margin.
It’s also worth noting that the Patriots’ leading receiver is tight end Hunter Henry with 176 yards. There has not been consistency at wide receiver, and that is forcing New England to have a stalled offense.
Certainly wasn't perfect yesterday, but the Patriots' defense has allowed 18, 24, 10 and 23 points in their four games despite missing key players in all of them.

Plenty of things have gone wrong for New England this year, and the offensive unit is one of them. Something has to change to keep this from becoming a reoccurring theme all season.
