Latest RTE Kin episode leaves viewers in shock after plot twist in the end

The latest episode of the hit RTE crime series Kin had a shocking plot twist and has been one of the most commented episodes on social media so far.

Episode five of the second season saw Frank Kinsella's life begin to spiral out of control as the gardai closed in on the crime family. Viking was put in a tough position and did something that left viewers stunned. The end of the episode had a surprise twist, with the Gardai arriving for Viking and Nikita and revealing it was Nikita and not Viking they were after, arresting her for soliciting another person to commit murder.

Fans of the show rushed to Twitter to talk about the nail-biting development. There were numerous comments about the ending. One person commented: “Jaysus plot twist....poor Nikki. Wonder how she'll stand up to questioning.” Another one wrote: “That twist though at the end. Was NOT expecting that. Great episode today!” A third one added: “What an ending… wasn’t expecting that.”

The new episode was called “the best episode yet”, with one person even going on to say: “They need to bring a movie out of Kin – one of the best Irish programs ever…”

Bren Kinsella was once again praised as a captivating character, or the one viewers love to hate. A fan of the series wrote: “I would happily watch hours and hours and hours of this… just to see how low Bren goes.” Meanwhile, another one said: “Another good episode and another week of Bren being an absolute creep.”

A third fan speculated: “Last week I was certain that the family would split into two sides. Amanda/ Michael/ Frank on one side, Bren/Jimmy/ Eric on the other. Now I've completely changed me mind and think they're all gonna realise Bren will destroy them and will all go against him then and try to kill him.”

Charlie Cox was also applauded, with fans calling him an “incredible actor” and also making a few comments about his good looks.

However, there was one thing that fans were unhappy about and it was the lighting. They compared the series to Love/Hate which was very bright in comparison. One person also joked: “Can’t someone turn the lights up, can’t see a fecking thing.” Another one added: “All that drug money and not a bit of light on the subject. You'd know this show wasn't sponsored by Electric Ireland. ”

Despite the dark scenes – both figuratively and literally – fans loved this episode and are keen to see what’s next. Kin airs every Sunday night on RTE One at 9:35pm and is available on RTE Player.
