The latest Overwatch 2 season 2 event is live, ringing in the Lunar New Year with a new Echo skin and limited-time modes. From now until Feb. 1, 2023, you can take part in the Lunar Brawls Arcade mode in the multiplayer game, featuring a bounty hunter game, classic capture the flag, and capture the flag blitz.
Capture the flag blitz is just capture the flag, but very fast. All heroes move more quickly, the distance between both teams’ flags is shorter, and you need six captures to win, instead of the usual three. In bounty hunter mode, the player with the highest score gets a point boost and a bounty placed on their heads, complete with a marker so everyone can find them.
While the Battle for Olympus event challenges were a bit steep and required you to get hundreds of eliminations as a certain hero, the Lunar New Year celebration is more lenient. For this event, you only need to win a few games of capture the flag or defeat a player with a bounty a set number of times.
The rewards on offer include a lucky pouch weapon charm and an event-specific name card, and if you manage to clear four challenges before the event ends, you get the snazzy new Kkachi skin for Echo, shown at the top of this post.
The event’s ending coincides with the winding down of season two. Blizzard is committed to giving you more things to do each season and more skins to earn, so you likely won’t have to wait too long for season three and yet another new event after this one ends.
