Temperatures are set to rise this week and it could even be hotter than Hawaii by the end of the week in parts of Wales. The Met Office is forecasting that temperatures could rise to 28°C in parts of Wales on Friday as warm winds from the continent are pulled towards the UK.
Welsh weather forecaster Derek Brockway has said that Friday has the "potential to be the hottest day of the year so far". He said: "Plenty more dry weather in the week ahead thanks to high pressure. Some good sunny spells and lighter winds. Temperatures on the rise. Very warm or hot on Thursday and Friday."
BBC weather forecaster Simon King said the peak of the heat this week will be on Friday where in the south east of the UK there could be the first 30°C of the year.

Hawaiians living in Hilo, the largest city in Hawaii, will be disappointed to hear that temperatures there will stay around 25°C with rain. While temperatures across Wales will start off fairly low on Monday, at around 15°C., by Wednesday parts will have reached 23°C and the forecast for Friday in Cardiff is highs of 27°C and 28°C in Wrexham.
The Met Office outlook for Wednesday to Friday in Wales says: "Staying dry over the next few days with lots of sunshine, turning hazy at times. Becoming warmer, mainly in the east, and feeling fresher in the west."
Temperatures are set to rise gradually over the course of the week. But Derek Brockway has said that the heat won't last long, saying: "Temperatures drop back closer to normal over the weekend."

The Met Office long range forecast for the weekend and into next week says: "Temperatures are expected to be warm for most and closer to average in the north, but possibly very warm or hot in the south, which could bring thundery conditions.
"A northwesterly wind is likely through the weekend, which may bring cooler temperatures, however there is a chance for warm weather to remain in the south.
"Fine but generally unsettled weather can be expected throughout the rest of this period, with the possibility of some showers or longer spells of rain mainly in the northwest and continued possible thundery outbreaks in the south."
