Latest Arsenal injury news as 3 miss Brighton amid Oleksandr Zinchenko and William Saliba fear

Arsenal have been handed a major blow to their Premier League title ambitions following reports that defensive duo Oleksandr Zinchenko and William Saliba will miss the rest of the season.

The Athletic reported that the pair would be unavailable for selection due to their respective injuries. However, neither defender will require surgery.

Saliba has missed the last two months of action after suffering a lower back issue, with the Gunners managing to record only a single clean sheet in his absence.

Left-back Zinchenko was forced off in last weekend's 2-0 win over Newcastle with a calf problem. There had been hope that he would be back in time for Brighton's trip to the Emirates Stadium, but it's claimed the Ukrainian will sit-out the remainder of the season.

Outside of that, the only two other absentees with injury are long-term cases. Both Takehiro Tomiyasu and Mohamed Elneny will be sidelined until next season at least.

City have their own issues to contend with. Nathan Ake was taken off in the 2-1 win against Leeds having only come back from another worrying knock and missed the Champions League semi-final first-leg against Real Madrid "I didn't speak with the doctor but apparently if he asked to, you know... we will see in the next days," Guardiola said.
