Beloved TV and radio star Paul O'Grady, who passed away "unexpectedly" last night at the age of 67 following years of ill health, once admitted that he knew one day death was going to catch up with him.
The all-rounder who dipped his toes into comedy, acting and writing, as well as being well-known for his drag queen persona Lily Savage, "peacefully" passed away on Tuesday, his husband announced.
In a previous interview with The Mirror, O’Grady, who was reportedly suffering from an illness while working his final year at Radio 2, predicted that he might not reach 60.

"I do count my blessings," he told the publication.
"I have had two heart attacks, and if I get to 60 that will be amazing. I don't fear anything nowadays.
"There has to be an angel out there. They are trying to steer me out of trouble 24 hours a day."
On one occasion, his heart stopped beating while in an ambulance, resulting in him needing to be resuscitated. When he was asked what happens when you die, the TV personality replied saying there was just "nothing".
He added: "Everyone asks: 'Did you see anything?' No, sorry. Nothing. No heavenly choirs, no light at the end of the tunnel."
Announcing the tragic news of Paul's death in a statement, husband Andre Portasio said: "It is with great sadness that I inform you that Paul has passed away unexpectedly but peacefully yesterday evening.
"We ask, at this difficult time, that whilst you celebrate his life you also respect our privacy as we come to terms with this loss.
"He will be greatly missed by his loved ones, friends, family, animals and all those who enjoyed his humour, wit and compassion.
"I know that he would want me to thank you for all the love you have shown him over the years."
