Waterford Hurling manager Davy Fitzgerlad was singled out for praise following his appearance on the Late Late Show on RTE 1 this evening.
Fitzgerald has experienced a rollercoaster of emotions over the last 12 months as he became a father again at the age of 51 and got back into management with Waterford.
Fitzgerald spoke openly about mental health and the pressures on young people, especially men, and the negative impacts that social media and the internet can have on individuals. He also spoke about his upcoming series "Davy's toughest team" where he works with disadvantaged young men to overcome challenges and obstacles in their way. Fitzgerald referenced conversations around suicide and depression during the series and urged anybody with such feelings to talk and seek help.
