Late Late Show viewers praise Brian Dowling, husband and sister after great interview about surrogacy

Viewers of the Late Late Show are heaping praise on Arthur Gourounlian, Brian Dowling and his sister for speaking honestly and openly about their personal surrogacy journey live on air.

Big Brother winner Brian Dowling and his husband, Arthur Gourounlian, thanked Brian's sister Aoife for acting as a surrogate mother, leading to the birth of their beautiful baby girl Blake last September.

The trio discussed some of the issues around surrogacy law in Ireland, with Aoife stating that she is not Blake's biological mother, but her auntie as it wasn't her egg.

One viewer wrote: "Very impressed with how articulate these three are on subject that alot of people probably find difficult to understand. Lucky Blake!"

Brian and Arthur, who wed in 2015, appeared on Friday night's show with Ryan Tubridy ahead of the release of their documentary highlighting their surrogacy journey.

Baby Blake, appeared on show and despite a quick little cry following a round of applause from the audience, the tot was all smiles for her parent's while with them up on the couch.

Viewers rowed in with support for the gay couple. One viewer said: "I wish Brian, Arthur and Blake nothing but absolute happiness." Another wrote: "Blake is such a cutie. So lucky to have so much love in her life."

Late Late viewers were also in awe of the courage of Aoife, who told Tubridy that she is not sure if she wants to have children of her own.

One person wrote: "They are amazing. I’m in such awe of what Aoife did for them. Blake is one lucky girl."

Another said: "Isn’t #AoifeDowling amazing ? What an inspiring woman, her attitude is gorgeous, a mighty woman her wee niece is lucky to have such a great Auntie."

Brian & Arthur's Very Modern Family will feature on RTÉ One on March 13 at 9.35pm.
