Late Late Show viewers were moved by Michael Bublé and Ryan Tubridy's "special friendship" on Friday night, after the Canadian superstar said goodbye to the outgoing host with a series of sentimental gifts.
The 47-year-old singer, described by Tubridy as "one of the nicest guests ever on the show" was the first person out on the night, returning to bid a final farewell to his dear friend, who is hanging up his boots after 14 years at the helm.
Buble, who plays two nights in Dublin this weekend off the back of his UK tour, spoke of his time spent at home with his family during the lockdowns, the difficulties his son faced with sickness in 2016 and his "genuine relationship" with his loyal fanbase.

However, it was the special relationship between Tubridy and Bublé that caught viewers' attention, as the two choked back tears at certain points, while praising one another with compassion and affection.
One viewer wrote: "That was one of the nicest pieces of television I’ve seen in years, Ryan Tubridy and Michael Bublé : beautiful, poignant, perfect."
While another, putting a more humorous slant on the interview said: "Like the two fellas who meet at a wedding and become best mates at 2 in the morning but will never ever see each other again."
Bublé himself brought his fair share of laughs from the audience, after talking about wealth and his son realising that his family are well-off, he asked Ryan why a "rich young guy like yourself is retiring at 28?", adding: "What are you going to do all day?"
The Crazy Love artist, who has sold over 75 million records worldwide, produced a bag containing a number of funny and sentimental gifts that captured the pair's relationship and shared sense of humour.
Some of the items he took out were a big box full of Barry's tea bags, cinema tickets, two pairs of shorts with his and Tubridy's faces printed on them, as well as a microphone.
The pair then sang Vera Lynn's 'We'll Meet Again', where some viewers were shocked to see Ryan's ability to hold a note in spite of his initial reluctance to sing.
One person wrote: "Excuse me I did not know Ryan Tubridy could hold a note. I know that was a bit cheesy but it was also very sweet."
While another said: "Ryan Tubridy and Michael Bublé singing with a pair of shorts with both their faces on each cheek. That's the stuff, we'll miss Tubs when he goes, a great sport."
