Boylesports has halted betting on the Late Late Show presenter gig as Patrick Kielty becomes a firm favourite for the role.
The Northern Irish comedian hammered into an all-time low of 2/5 from 3/1 over the course of just a few days. Boylesports officially closed their betting this morning as the odds show strong support for Patrick.
The surging interest occurs after broadcasters Claire Byrne and Sarah McInerney ruled themselves out of the race. Claire's announcement that she would not be taking on the role shocked RTE viewers, as she was the bookie's firm favourite to nab the job following Ryan Tubridy's departure.

Sarah Kinsella, spokesperson for BoyleSports, said: “It doesn’t matter what odds we made Kielty for The Late Late role, the support just kept coming for him. It looks like an announcement from Montrose could be imminent, so we have chosen to pull the plug on the betting.”
Patrick was was most recently spotted at last night's IFTA ceremony alongside his wife Cat Deely. Other contenders for the Late Late Show gig include Ciara Kelly, Baz Ashmawy and Brendan O'Connor.
