Prime Video has announced an extra special Halloween version of Last One Laughing – which will see the competing comedians face an additional challenge.
The hit format sees a group of comedians enter a brightly-decorated bunker for six hours, with one simple rule: no laughing. Any giggles – or in the case of some participants, howls of laughter – result in yellow and then red cards.
For the Halloween special, which will arrive later this year, the cast will also be banned from screaming, suggesting that producers have some spooks and scares up their sleeves.
The one-off episode will be followed by a third full series in 2027.
The announcement comes after the huge success of the second season, which saw series one champion Bob Mortimer return in a bid to retain his title.
The Gone Fishing star faced stiff competition from the likes of Romesh Ranganathan, Diane Morgan and Mel Giedroyc – but nobody came close to defeating the top two, David Mitchell and Sam Campbell.
The pair proved to be so straight-faced that host Jimmy Carr eventually tried to break the deadlock by wheeling in a trolley full of food and asking them to feed each other, in what will surely go down as one of the most surreal television scenes to air this year.
When that failed, a tally of who had made the most people laugh saw Mitchell crowned winner.

News of the Halloween special comes after one of the Last One Laughing series two comedians revealed how one particularly “filthy” moment didn’t make the final edit.
Appearing on co-star Alan Carr’s Life’s A Beach podcast, Amy Gledhill explained: “The thing that I did that I thought might have been funny hasn’t made it into the show because it was too mucky. Me and Sam [Campbell] did an improv in the bed.
“I was trying to get it away from filth and then Sam, who I didn’t expect to take it into filthy areas… It got to a point where I really thought, for this improv to end, I’m going to have to spit into Sam Campbell’s mouth.
“I remember there being a moment where me and Sam were looking at each other and I think Sam was like, ‘do it’. And then I heard Jimmy Carr. It was too much for Jimmy Carr. I heard him behind the wall going, ‘cut!’”
