Award-winning creative agency Laser Red is launching a new PR service.
Experienced communications specialist Alex Rimmer is joining the Grimsby firm to head up the addition. He brings 25 years of experience in senior roles, latterly working with Co-op and Nisa, with the move signalling the firm's ambitious growth plans for its business portfolio.
He has been tasked with delivering the service for the existing client base and prospects, covering strategy and planning, reputation management, media relations, internal communications and more, complementing the established digital offer.

Liam O’Leary, Laser Red’s managing director, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Alex to the team. We have developed the business significantly over the past eight years, which has seen us achieve consistent year on year growth during that time.
“The addition of a PR and communications division to Laser Red was always part of our plans and the opportunity to bring Alex’s experience to the team gives us an advantage in building a strong offering for our clients. We want to help our clients perform better, grow their business and get noticed.”
An award-winning practitioner, Alex is described as bringing a wealth of communications management experience from integrated agency and in-house roles within public and private sector, covering a range of industries and sectors, including retail, wholesale, FMCG, technology, construction, engineering and agriculture.
He joins having left the role of head of PR and communications for the Scunthorpe-headquartered specialist delivered wholesaler, recently acquired by Co-op. Alex said: “It’s a great feeling to join the talented team at Laser Red and I’m proud and excited to have the opportunity to lead and develop its PR function.
“In a world where everyone has the latest news and information at the click of a finger it is so important for businesses to maintain a positive image and the ability to engage meaningfully with all audiences. I’m really pleased that we’re going to be able to work closely with our clients to keep them ahead of the click by creating communications strategies that work for them, whatever their needs.”
Laser Red, based at E-Factor’s Enterprise Village, was founded in 1995, and has recently launched in Lincoln, following the pre-Covid acquisition of a city firm, re-establishing an office. It specialises in marketing, web design and branding, with mobile app and ecommerce platform development part of the service.
